Police dig out Egyptian guard’s killer Trio accused of drunk driving acquitted

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 23: The Court of Appeals presided over by Judge Najeeb Al-Mulla upheld the ruling of the Court of First Instance which had acquitted three Kuwaiti citizens who were accused of drunk driving and causing a traffic accident.
According to the case files, the citizens were involved in an accident on Damascus Street opposite Qortuba and when securitymen arrived at the location, they noticed the suspects acting in a disoriented manner. They were arrested and referred to the concerned authorities for medical examination. A report was later issued by the Criminal Investigation Department which indicated that the blood samples collected from the three suspects contained traces of alcohol and drugs.
Defense Attorney Ali Al-Wawan requested the court to acquit his clients, stressing that the accusations lacked sufficient evidences and that his clients had never committed a crime in the past.
