Water cut disrupts normal life ‘Crisis worsens’

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 10: Several areas in the country experienced abrupt water disconnection on Monday in what seemed like preliminary incidents as warned by the Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Training Dr Meshan Al-Otaibi in 2010, reports Al-Rai daily quoting an informed source.

He indicated that the water crises in the concerned areas was such a disaster that the unit in charge of receiving complaints at the Call Center (152) registered 1,202 complaints about this out of the total 1,245 calls from Monday to Tuesday morning.

He said the complaints reflected level of sufferings by the consumers within the period without concrete efforts from the ministry to end the crises.

He disclosed that signs of the disconnection started few days in advance until it reached the peak on Tuesday, adding that the disconnections prolonged for several hours and a long time was required to bring the situation back to normal.
