Canadian expat stabs, injures young wife Kuwaiti hurt in fight

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 9: A Canadian expatriate stabbed his wife, in her early twenties, in the abdomen with a knife at their residence in Qairawan. The victim’s father rushed her to Jahra Hospital for treatment.
The suspect surrendered himself at Qairawan Police Station where he is currently being interrogated. A case has been registered and securitymen are carrying out an investigation to determine the circumstances related to the incident.

Settling scores: A Kuwaiti citizen sustained head injuries during a quarrel with another in front of Firdous Cooperative Society.
According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information from a passerby about the quarrel, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location.
Paramedics referred the victim to Farwaniya Hospital for treatment while securitymen arrested the other suspect.
During investigations, he revealed that the quarrel was due to some former disputes between them. A case was registered and necessary legal action was taken against the suspect.

Kuwaiti duo held: Two Kuwaiti citizens were arrested recently in Salmiya for consumption and possession of alcohol.
According to security sources, Hawally securitymen were patrolling Restaurant Street in Salmiya at night when they suspected a vehicle with two occupants being driven in unsteady manner without headlights. They stopped him and checked their details to discover they are Kuwaiti citizens in their 30s.
Detecting the smell of alcohol from them, they checked the vehicle and found a bottle of ‘Red Label’ liquor.
