Santa Claus pelted with stones

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 2:  In a strange incident, when a bedoun youth dressed as ‘Santa Claus’ carrying a bag full of presents and brought smile on the faces of children, was pelted with stones by youths, reports Al-Shahed daily.

A security source said when someone called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior police rushed in time after and ‘rescued’ him. The incident took place in Sulaibiya.

Couple caught drunk: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti youth and his girlfriend for consuming alcohol, reports Al-Rai daily.
The couple was taken into custody while driving along the Chalets Road. Initially the youth was ordered to pull over for reckless driving and while issuing a citation police discovered he was under the influence of alcohol.
Police seized from the car two bottles of imported liquor and referred the suspects to the concerned authority.

Syrian held selling sand: Police have arrested a Syrian man for stealing government property – sand — and selling it to contractors, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The Chairman of the Volunteer Committee for the People of Sabah Al-Ahmad City, Turki Al-Osaimi, saw trucks loading sand from the desert and selling them to owner of residential plots at KD 10 for each load. According to reports each plot consumes nearly 40 truckloads of sand.
When Al-Osaimi called the Deputy General Manager of the Kuwaiti Municipality police rushed to the spot and arrested the Syrian.
A case of stealing state property has been registered against the suspect.
