Couple held for ‘abusing’ police ‘Move killers of Maimouni to separate cell’

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 28: Police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti and his female companion for verbally abusing the police and refusing to show their IDs, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to the security sources the incident happened in Salmiya when a police patrol on routine duty saw something fishy going on inside the vehicle.
The police then arrested the suspects and referred them to the area police station.
They have been referred to Forensic to measure the quantity of alcohol content in their blood.
A case of insulting police and driving under the influence of alcohol has been registered against the suspect and his friend.

‘Move killers of Maimouni to separate cell’ :  The Ministry of Interior has issued instructions to the Prisons and Penitentiaries Department to move the alleged killers of Mohammed Al-Maimouni to a separate cell under strict supervision, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily added this was done to protect the prisoners following a big demonstration in front of the Sabah Al-Nasser Police Station which was staged after the court sentenced the accused to life imprisonment.
The demonstrators are demanding capital punishment for the killers of Maimouni.
