‘Expats, citizens live in harmony’ ‘Peaceful co-existence’

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 28: Deputy Patriarch of the Roman Catholic Archimandrite Bitrus Ghareb commended the wise leadership of Their Highnesses the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Archimandrite Ghareb said this while receiving several personalities who visited to congratulate him on the occasion of the Christmas. He stressed the people in Kuwait enjoy peaceful co-existence, love, and tolerance, and pointed to these features as typical of Kuwaitis who are known to be open-minded.

He disclosed that Kuwait is among the few countries in the region where locals and expatriates live in harmony, and noted “it is impossible for anybody to be isolated from the society like an island”. He cited only a few extremist groups are in the country, but people tolerate each other and co-exist in harmony.

He lauded the leadership for its wisdom and thanked the entire Sabah ruling family in particular and Kuwait as a country in general where, he said, the people find it difficult to differentiate between Muslims, Christians and people of other religions, adding “We all share mutual respect, love and peaceful co-existence that is synonymous with Kuwait.”
