Teacher seeks justice: A female Kuwaiti teacher recently visited the Al-Rai daily to complain about a police officer who abused his authority and caused harm to her, reports Al-Rai daily.
The teacher said she was driving along a street in Salmiya and was on her way to pick her son from school. At this point the first lieutenant, whose identity has not been disclosed, ordered her to stop and yelled at her for listening to an Iraqi song.
The woman added the officer then asked her to give him her cell phone for him to feed his telephone number and when she refused he became furious.
The teacher said she drove off after telling him that he can issue a citation against her but instead he pursued her and crashed into her car from the rear.
Not satisfied with what he had done, he then pulled her out of her car with the help of another policeman, bundled her in a police car and took her to the Salmiya Police Station.
At the Police Station, the officer claimed he had filed a complaint against her for humiliating him and requested her to sign a pledge. She obliged after he threatened to scandalize her and threatening to tell her husband that she was arrested inside a brothel.
The teacher said she filed a complaint against the officer and submitted a medical report. However no action was taken.
The teacher has appealed to the Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Hmoud to open an investigation into the incident.
