Mini Kuwait, Alghanim ready for Kuwait Rally Al Nejadi, Al Shamali eye glory

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 26: Team MINI Kuwait, together with its sponsor Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive, is gearing up for another victory at the eagerly awaited third round of the Kuwait Rally Championship 2013, taking place this Saturday 29 December. Departing from Julai’a opposite the Seashell Resort, Meshal Al Nejadi and co-driver Ali Al Shamali plan to set the pace and move up the leader board against fellow international racing stars while wowing crowds with breathtaking manoeuvres, mind-blowing speed and top-class driving

The car that is set to tame this terrain is the MINI John Cooper Works S2000. The powerful heart of the racing car is a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder turbo-charged engine from MINI Motorsport, producing 275 horsepower.
“We are very excited about this round and have no doubt that the MINI John Cooper Works will be a force to be reckoned with on the track. Team MINI Kuwait will demonstrate how the MINI John Cooper Works paves the way to the podium without compromising on MINI’s fun driving experience,” said Yousef Al Qatami, General Manager of Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive.

“There is no question that we plan to score the fastest time and take home the win,” said Meshal Al Nejadi, driver of Team MINI Kuwait. “Ali and I are aware it will be a very challenging round, but thanks to the support of Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive, and with the powerful car that we are driving, we are ready to show Kuwait what MINI can do.” Organised by the Kuwait Quarter Mile Auto and Motorcycle Club Rally Committee, and under the patronage of Al Ahmadi Governor Sheikh Ibrahim Al Duaij Al Sabah, the Championship was officially launched at an opening ceremony on Friday 19th October; it includes a total of six rounds and will officially end on March 23rd.
