Many illegals, wanted people arrested Raid conducted in Jahra

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 22: Securitymen from Jahra Security Directorate arrested several individuals during an intensive security campaign launched recently in Jahra Governorate.

According to security sources, they arrested 25 expatriates for violating the residency law, five Kuwaiti citizens for reckless driving and stunts with their vehicles and many others who were wanted for various crimes. The campaign was held under the directives of Jahra Security Chief Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah and led by Major Matar Al-Sebil.

Securitymen organized checkpoints at certain areas within the governorate especially in Amghara at night. The arrested individuals were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them. Meanwhile, securitymen from Ahmadi Security Directorate Command carried out similar operations in Wafra and Jaber Al-Ali, during which they arrested 29 individuals and seized 20 vehicles.

Acting on series of complaints from residents of the areas, Ahmadi Security Chief Brigadier Abdullatif Al-Wahib instructed the officers to set up checkpoints at certain locations, after which Capital Security Chief Major General Tareq Hamada formed a crack team to control misdemeanor within the territory.

The officers managed to arrest 17 expatriates from various nationalities for residency law violation and others who were wanted by law for several legal cases. They were referred to the concerned authorities for legal procedures. The officers also referred 23 reckless drivers to the police station of the area.

Meanwhile, a sports vehicle caught fire recently on Love Street in Capital Governorate. No casualties were reported.

When the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information from a passerby about the vehicle on fire, firefighters rushed to the location with securitymen and paramedics and extinguished the fire within a short time. Investigations revealed that the fire broke out due to short circuit issue.
