Driver finds pouch with 10m Iraqi dinars, $1,000 in his taxi

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 21: An unidentified taxi driver has handed over to the Salmiya Police Station a pouch containing 10 million Iraqi dinars and 1,000 US dollars, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to the driver he dropped a passenger at a hotel in Salmiya and after the man had left, he found the pouch on the back seat of the car.
The police then contacted the hotel and returned the money to its rightful owner — a European man of Iraqi origin.
The man was reportedly on his way to Iraq via Kuwait.

Woman’s KD 65, ID stolen: An unknown individual snatched the handbag of a Sri Lankan woman, which contained her mobile phone, KD 65 cash and Civil ID, recently in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh.
According to security sources, the victim was crying when she reported the case in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh police station. She informed securitymen that the unknown suspect, who was dressed in casual wear, snatched her handbag from her hand while she was walking in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and ran away.
Securitymen noted down the description of the suspect and investigations are ongoing to arrest him.

3 arrested for theft: The Jleeb Al-Shuwaikh police have arrested three unidentified persons for committing theft and wanted by law in civil cases, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources the men were caught on suspicion while driving in the area. The daily added, when the police ordered the man behind the wheel to pull over, he stepped on the gas pedal tried in vain to escape.
Police have reportedly seized from the men stolen electric generator, plasma TV and equipment to cut locks and iron doors. During interrogation the men are said to have admitted to the charge of committing theft.
They have been referred to the concerned authorities.

Huge debt surprises man: Police are looking for an unidentified person for using the Civil ID of a Kuwaiti man to buy a telephone line, making a large number of calls and accumulating a huge debt, reports Al-Rai daily.
In his complaint to the Maidan Hawalli Police Station the Kuwaiti said he was shocked when the telephone company sent him a huge bill.
Police investigations revealed the suspect has bought several telephone lines using the ID of the Kuwait.
A case of fraud has been registered at the police station.
