Ex Wife delivers baby 40 days after marriage Ex-wife sued for ‘Express delivery’

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 20: A Kuwaiti citizen recently filed a case against his ex-wife, who delivered a child 40 days after their marriage and named him as the father.

According to the case files, 40 days after the plaintiff married the defendant, the latter gave birth to a child and named him as the father. However, he had submitted his complaint to the Committee of Genealogy and Correcting Names, which refuted the kinship of the baby to the plaintiff.

Attorney Abdulmohsen Al-Qattan, who submitted the lawsuit on behalf of the plaintiff, said the penalty of this crime as per article no 183 is maximum of 15-year or minimum 5-year imprisonment.

Meanwhile, the Criminal Court has adjourned to Dec 23, 2012 hearing into the case of some employees of the Environment Public Authority for allegedly forging documents and embezzling public funds.

According to case papers the suspects facilitated the procedures for an employee working at the Public Relations and Citizen Service Department to embezzle an undisclosed sum of public money.
It suspect is also facing charges of forging official documents.
