One held in pro-Assad rally Syrian hurt in fight

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 19: A group of Syrian nationals on five vehicles organized a rally in support of Bashar Al-Assad recently on Damascus Street. One among the participants were arrested.
According to security sources, the suspects were seen holding the Syrian national flag and pictures of Bashar Al-Assad and shouting slogans against the Free Syria Army. A group of passersby threw stones at them in protest against their slogans.
When one of the passersby informed the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior about the rally, which was causing a traffic jam, securitymen rushed to the location. However, the suspects managed to escape before the arrival of the securitymen.
Securitymen noted the descriptions of the vehicles from the passersby and circulated them to the patrol officers.
They eventually managed to arrest one of the drivers of the vehicles, and during interrogations, he revealed that the rally was held to celebrate the victory of the Syrian national team in a football match.
He was detained in police custody and investigations are ongoing to find and arrest the rest of the suspects.
Meanwhile, one person sustained serious head injuries during a quarrel.
According to security sources, two suspects were supporting the Syrian regime while the other two were supporting the Free Syria Army. An argument based on their opinions eventually developed into a physical fight.
Security sources stressed that the Ministry of Interior ban any demonstration or rally that is illegal and cause public mess or traffic jam, adding that the participants will be arrested for legal measures against them.
