The Bedoun demonstrating in the Taima suburb of Jahra.
Bedoun hold Taima demo

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 19: Scores of bedoun demonstrated on the streets of Taima calling upon the authorities not to classify them according to color codes, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

They also demanded the immediate release of ‘bedoun brothers’ Abdul Hakim and Abdul Nasser Al-Fadhli and others who were arrested by the police during previous demonstrations.

The protesters raised Kuwaiti flags and placards to air their grievances and present their demands, calling on the authorities to end their suffering. They also shouted ‘Freedom, Freedom’ as they left the area.
Director of Jahra Security Directorate Major-General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah led the negotiations with the protesters before they started marching out of the Horriya Square peacefully.

Earlier, the Special Forces were posted at three centers — Al-Horriya Square, Taima Police Station and near Al-Najashi Street to prevent any untoward incidents.
According to eyewitness reports the number of the bedoun gradually increased as they began arriving from different areas.
Major-General Al-Tarrah said diligent efforts are being exerted to solve the problem of bedoun. He added, the government is serious about solving the issue once and for all.
