KUWAIT CITY, Dec 18: The Chairman of Kuwait Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies Abdulaziz Al-Samhan has revealed that the union will soon implement a project worth KD 2.262 million for the construction of a warehouse in Sulaibiya to enhance food security in the country and assist in direct import from the countries of origin, reports Al-Rai daily.

Corroborating Al-Samhan, the Chairman of the Administrative Committee Walid Al-Ayoubi declared that the project has been floated in the official tender of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor.

He said the tenders’ officials opened the bid envelopes in the presence of representatives from the concerned companies and ministry supervisors, which revealed the company that will handle the project.
He indicated that this project has seven phases of execution and is expected to conclude within 18 months.

He stressed that the project will be one of the most significant projects of the union and will save storage expenses since it is located on an expansive area where space usage will be maximized.
