CID personnel arrest 3 over anti-Amir tweets

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 12: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested three ‘tweeters’ for writing abuses against HH the Amir on the social networking website Twitter, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The interrogations are continuing.

Bangladeshi held for drugs: Anti-narcotics personnel from the International Drug Unit of Drug Control General Department apprehended a Bangladeshi expatriate in possession of 85 capsules equivalent to half a kilogram of heroin and additional 2,000 narcotic pills for trafficking purposes.
Also, a huge amount of money believed to be proceeds of drug trade was confiscated from the suspect after security operatives received a tip off about his activities and placed him under surveillance and caught him peddling in the contraband. He has since been referred to drug prosecution.

8 protesters arrested: The security authorities have taken into custody eight men for taking part in an unauthorized demonstration in a suburb of Taima. The arrest happened two days ago, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to a security source the eight include a Kuwaiti - an employee of the Ministry of Interior - his Saudi cousin and six bedoun.
All the arrested have been referred to the concerned authorities. They have been charged with attacking securitymen, causing disturbances and setting fire to garbage bins in the area.
The source added 17 personnel — employees from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defence and the National Guard were also arrested last week for taking part in a demonstration. They are part of 61 men who were rounded up on that day.

KD 200 stolen from vehicle
: Unknown individuals broke into the vehicle of a Kuwaiti citizen and stole KD 200 recently, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
When the citizen returned to his vehicle after visiting a governmental agency, he was shocked to find the window of the vehicle broken. He checked his vehicle and discovered that KD 200 was missing.
He rushed to the nearest police station and lodged a complaint against the unknown suspects.
A case was registered.

Asian run over, dies: An unidentified Asian man died on the spot in a traffic accident on the King Fahd Expressway, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to security sources the victim who was crossing a road was run over by a Kuwaiti man.
The corpse of the victim has been referred to Forensics. The Kuwaiti has been arrested and detained for interrogation.

59 traffic citations issued: The Operations and Public Security departments at Mubarak Al-Kabeer Security Directorate carried out a series of surprise inspection campaigns in the governorate from Nov 19 to Dec 5.
In a press statement recently, the directorate revealed the series of campaigns led to the issuance of 59 traffic citations and arrest of three persons suspected of involvement in drug cases, one involved in a financial case, one for violating the Residency Law, and 13 others for engaging in a fistfight.
According to the directorate, the campaigns also included the provision of humanitarian aid to 45 people and follow up of 48 reports on various crimes. 
The statement added the directorate will continue its campaign to track down criminals and ensure the public safety.
