Police seize 302 bottles of local brew from Asian Syrian arrested for forgery

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 10: An Asian expatriate was arrested recently for possession of 302 bottles of locally brewed liquor, reports Al-Shahid daily.
According to security sources, while securitymen were patrolling Khaitan, they suspected a vehicle and requested the driver to stop for checking. However, he refused to obey the instruction and sped away, forcing the patrol officers to chase him. They eventually stopped him and checked his details to discover he is an Asian expatriate.
They checked his vehicle and found the large number of bottles filled with locally brewed liquor.
He was arrested and referred with the liquor bottles to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him.

Man held for fraud: A Syrian expatriate was arrested recently for forging documents of the employees of some companies, which were suspended by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, reports Al-Shahed daily.
When securitymen from General Immigration Department received information about the suspect’s illegal activities, they conducted investigations, during which they discovered that the suspect used to forge transfers of the employees’ salaries to the banks.
They arrested him in the act in possession of seals from the banks. A case was registered and investigations in this regard are ongoing.

‘Lesson of his life’: Police are looking for an unidentified youth for harassing a young woman and vandalizing her car, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily added the incident happened when the woman was on her way home after attending a training session in taekwondo in Salmiya.
She saw the suspect following her and after she reached her apartment, he followed her and attempted to molest her near the building elevator. The woman who is learning martial arts taught the youth a lesson and he ran for his life.
She filed a complaint when she saw scratches on her car and abusive phrases written on the windscreen.

Live bomb found: Experts from Ordnance Disposal Team recently detonated a live bomb that was found 700 meters away from a main road in Kabad, reports Al-Anba daily.
When the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received a call from a Kuwaiti citizen about a strange contraption in Kabad, the team from Kuwaiti army rushed to the location and detonated the bomb.
Sources said the bomb is believed to be a remnant of the ordnances left behind by the Iraqi Army in 1991.
