Nightly protests by youths continue in residential areas Securitymen arrest demonstrator armed with gun

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: Nightly demonstrations by youths have been ongoing for four consecutive days in protest against the ‘one man one vote’ system and the new National Assembly, reports Al-Qabas daily.
According to security sources, the demonstrations were held in residential areas of Jahra, Sabah Al-Nasser and Sabahiya from 9 pm until after midnight.

They revealed that several youths rallied in Jahra Governorate but it ended peacefully after Jahra Security Director Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah promised the protestors that the security forces will not intervene in the demonstrations.

In Sabah Al-Nasser, scores of youths gathered at 9 pm for demonstrations which went on until daybreak at Sixth Ring Road. Securitymen did not intervene in the demonstration; however, they noted the vehicle numbers of some of the youths who participated in the demonstrations and arrested four individuals who were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.

Meanwhile, approximately 16 citizens participated in two unlicensed demonstrations in Ahmadi and Farwaniya Governorates. Securitymen arrested them and referred them to the General Department for Criminal Evidences for necessary legal action against them.

Furthermore, an unlicensed demonstration was held in Sabahiya where securitymen arrested a 21-year-old Kuwaiti citizen who was armed with a gun. He was referred to the General Department for Criminal Evidences for necessary legal action against him.

Securitymen also arrested 12 other individuals who participated in the demonstration in Sabahiya.
