MoC denies disconnecting, reducing Net speed during night rallies Slow network tied to poor services provided by the firms

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: Ministry of Communications does not contemplate disconnecting or reducing the speed of Internet in the country during the night rallies organized by some citizens in various parts of the country, reports Alam Al-Youm daily.
An official source explained that slow network and intermittent disconnections observed in recent times are due to poor services from the companies that provide Internet services to citizens and expatriates. He also said a large number of users are registered at the same period the rallies take place, which could be among the factors affecting the network across the country, especially in the areas where rallies took place.
He refuted that the Ministry of Communications received a request from its Interior counterpart to disconnect the Internet to the concerned locations, particularly Sabah Al-Nasser where most rallies normally take place. He stressed the Internet service encounters technical issues that cause problems, even as the ministry is up and doing to find lasting solution to the problems.
