Officers confiscate 5,400 imported liquor bottles from Asian, trucker

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 5: Anti-narcotics personnel were able to retrieve 3,000 bottles of imported liquor from the basement of one residential building, following a tip-off the Drug Control General Depa-rtment received about an Asian trafficking in the contraband.
According to sources, the officers raided the basement after placing the suspect under surveillance over a period and confiscated the aforementioned quantity of liquor contained in 250 boxes. He was referred to the relevant authority for necessary action.
Meanwhile, customs officers foiled an attempt by an Arab trucker to smuggle some 2,400 bottles of liquor into the country.
Apparently, the inspectors were conducting their routine check of vehicles at the border post when they discovered the contraband hidden inside a container of household utensils in the suspect’s truck. He was arrested and referred with the items to the concerned authority for necessary action.

Drunk held singing on street: A 33-year-old Indian was arrested for consuming alcohol, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
A team of securitymen from Kheitan Police Station was patrolling the area when they noticed the Indian lying on the street while singing.  They approached him for interrogation and they found out he was under the influence of alcohol. 
The Indian was referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.

MoH official’s seal stolen: An unknown individual broke into an office of the Qurain Health Center affiliated to the Ministry of Health and stole an official seal of the center, reports Al-Nahar daily.
According to security sources, an employee of the health center had lodged a complaint against the suspect, specifying that when he went to the center in the morning, he was shocked to find the door of his office open and the seal missing from his table.
He immediately rushed to the police station of the area to report the theft.
Officers from General Department of Criminal Evidences rushed to the location along with securitymen and lifted fingerprints and collected evidences.
A case was registered for investigations.

Indian dies in fall: A 34-year-old Indian laborer died when he fell from the scaffold of an under construction building in Mangaf, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location immediately after receiving a call from one of the victim’s colleagues.  However, he was already dead when the rescuers arrived at the scene.  He is said to have sustained severe skull fracture.  His remains were referred to Forensics.
A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to determine the actual circumstances leading to the incident.
