220 cartons of local liquor found in Kuwaiti man’s home Gang of thieves nabbed

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 4: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested for storing 220 cartons of locally brewed liquor inside his house in Andalous, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources, when the Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major General Abdulhameed Al-Awadi received information about a liquor storehouse in Andalous, he issued a directive to the Directorate General for Drug Control to raid the den.
A team was formed for investigations and they discovered that the storehouse belonged to a Kuwaiti citizen. They arrested the Kuwaiti citizen and raided the storehouse to find 220 cartons of liquor.
The suspect was referred with the items to the General Department for Criminal Evidences.
During interrogations, he informed securitymen that he had rented the storehouse to an Asian expatriate and was not aware of what the latter stored there. When securitymen checked the details of the expatriate, they discovered that he was blacklisted but he had already left the country.
A case was registered and further investigations in this regard are ongoing.

Gang of thieves nabbed: Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department managed to catch a gang of 8 people specialized in stealing from commercial shops, cooperative society branches and restaurants across the six governorates.
According to an Interior Ministry press release, detectives from Rawda area police station received report about several incidents of thefts in shops, cooperative societies and restaurants, and the complainants believed an organized gang was behind the operations.
Later, the gang was arrested in possession of the tools for perpetrating their criminal acts, following intensive investigation by security operatives, and the members confessed embarking on 10 burglaries nationwide. They will be referred to public prosecution after necessary investigations are complete.

Egyptian dies: A 33-year-old Egyptian expatriate died when he fell from his motorbike on Arabian Gulf Street while he was on his way to deliver food orders, reports Al-Shahid daily.
When the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the accident, securitymen rushed to the location and referred the corpse to the Forensics Department.
Interrogations with eyewitnesses revealed that a reckless driver who was speeding on Arabian Gulf Street hit the motorbike and fled from the location.
A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to arrest the hit-and-run driver.

Fraud case filed: A Bedoun lodged a complaint at Shamiya police station against a telecommunication company, accusing it of fraud and forgery, reports Al-Shahid daily.
According to the complaint, when securitymen stopped him at a security checkpoint in Jahra and checked his details, he was shocked to discover he owed KD 1,500 to a telecommunication company even though he never contracted with that company.
A case was registered for investigations.

Juveniles held: Seven Kuwaiti juveniles including a cross dresser were arrested recently from Marina Mall in Salmiya, reports Al-Shahid daily.
When the Operations Room received information about a quarrel among seven juveniles including a cross dresser, securitymen rushed to the location and arrested them.
They were referred to the General Department for Criminal Evidences for necessary legal action against them.

Driving drunk: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested recently in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh for drunk driving and running over a juvenile who sustained leg fractures, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
When Farwaniya securitymen received information about the accident, they rushed to the location with paramedics. Paramedics referred the juvenile to Farwaniya Hospital for treatment while securitymen referred the suspect to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him.
A case was registered for investigations.

Drugs with duo: A Kuwaiti citizen and a Bedoun were arrested recently for possession of 70 narcotic pills, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources, while securitymen were patrolling Jahra, they suspected a vehicle with two occupants and stopped it for checked.
They checked the details of the occupants and discovered one is a Kuwaiti citizen while the other is a Bedoun.
Sensing their nervousness, they checked the vehicle and found 70 narcotic pills.
They were arrested and referred with the drugs to the Directorate General for Drug Control for necessary legal action against them.
