Thursday, Sunday holiday for students

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 27: The Interior Ministry’s elections department is making preparations to take over the schools where the next parliamentary polls will be conducted next Saturday, Dec 1, 2012, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily quoting a reliable ministry source as saying.

The same source explained that Thursday Nov 29 will be given as holiday for students in the primary and intermediary schools, as well as teachers and other staff members. Students of those schools will again enjoy Sunday Dec 2, 2012 as holiday, the source indicated.

The Ministry of Education has appointed 50 Bedoun teachers who passed the examinations and interviews given by the Recruitment Committee, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily quoting sources.

Sources disclosed the newly-recruited teachers will cover the manpower needs of the ministry in certain subjects. Sources confirmed these teachers have fulfilled all the conditions set by the Central System for Remedying the Status of Illegal Residents (CSRSIR), in coordination with the Civil Service Commission (CSC), such as inclusion in the 1965 Census and born to a military father and Kuwaiti mother.

Sources added the ministry will ask the new teachers to undergo medical tests before assigning them to various educational districts.
