KAC on path of overhauling: chairman Co seeks help of consulting firms

DUBAI, Nov 25, (KUNA): The 10-year-old regional business center of Kuwait Airways Company in Dubai has substantially expanded its tasks including training engineers on giant aircraft, said the KAC Chairman.
The center, which coordinates with some 135 aviation company, is the first one in the region that trains engineers on the new aircraft, Boeing-787 and Airbus-380, said Sami Al-Nisef, during the annual ceremony, held by the center here late on Saturday.
It holds training on the 787 aircraft, although this type of the planes is not part of the KAC fleet.
The center was launched 10 years ago. It started on a limited scale, but its operations expanded, also offering quality certificates, accredited by the European Union.


In response to a question by KUNA regarding the overhaul process following the KAC transformation into a shareholding company, Al-Nisef said the company “is working on several files in this regard simultaneously.” Also in this vein, he indicated at changes in the employment sector, namely concerning staff who would opt to resign and those who would prefer to carry on the job.
He also indicated that the company would spend huge sums on employees favoring to quit their jobs in the KAC.
Moreover, the company is seeking aid of consultative companies to “draw a map for future actions.” It is also holding discussions with aircraft charter and sales companies.
Other tangible steps that have already been taken include ensuring punctuality of flight schedules and availability of passengers’ bags and belongings upon time of aircraft arrival at the airport.
The KAC business center in Dubai has organized a series of workshops and training courses, training up to 2,000 personnel in the sector.
