‘Storming’ suspects freed on bail Hearing on Dec 10

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 12: The Appeals Court on Monday ordered all the suspects detained for storming Al-Watan TV channel released on bail bond of KD 300 each. The court supervised by Justice Hani Al-Hamdan adjourned the case until Dec 10 for the final ruling.

The session was attended by the defense counsel of Al-Watan attorney MP Nabil Al-Fadhel and Lawyer Rashid Al-Radaan who submitted a petition to withdraw the case. Attorney of the defendants Al-Hamidi Al-Subaie implored the court must acquit his clients and demanded their immediate release.

According the case file, the defendants are standing trial for assaulting policemen — as indicated in the medical reports, and confronting the officers with violence in the line of duty while they were guarding the building which was raided by the accused.

They are also charged for participating in illegal gathering during which they committed crimes and breached public security and disobeyed the orders of security officers who had instructed them to disperse.
