‘Pay indemnities to retirees’ Alert govt bodies win public praise

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 12: The Supreme Defense Council on Sunday approved a number of recommendations and decisions during its meeting presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak, reports Al-Rai daily.

The meeting decided not to renew fiscal concessions that will finish by the end of this year, while it approved end of services allowances for workers in the four security institutions-Army, Police, National Guard and Fire Service, indicating the allowances will be paid to officers in these four institutions over a period of two years, and personnel who are planning to retire after 1/1/2013.

The meeting was attended by representatives of many authorities and officials from the ministries of Communications and Foreign Affairs, and the Minister of Defense Sheikh Ahmad Al-Khaled.

Attendees had unanimously praised the four security institutions for being on guard to defend the internal and external positions of the country and its people.

They noted the decision of paying end of service allowances to the retirees is necessary, and it would be implemented by January 2013, immediately after the Council of Ministers has given its approval in that concern.
