Amir’s speech extinguishes ‘fire of concerns’
OVER the last few days, Kuwaitis were waiting for the sublime speech of HH the Amir to assuage their fears and remove the ugly scene created by a group of renegades who undermine national unity and the deep-rooted traditions, which have been prevailing in the last three centuries and have empowered Kuwait to face all forms of adversity.
Many citizens said, secretly and publicly, that the Amir’s speech which extinguished the ‘fire’ of concerns was late but his usual wisdom comes at the right time to address the people. Kuwaitis know who wants the best for the country and works day and night to serve national interests, as well as those who want evil, incitement and fabricated crises to implement personal agendas based on short-sighted, selfish and cunning objectives.
The great and unprecedented support for the political leadership and the outright rejection of the violations committed by the deviant group are clear indications that the people are close to the wise leader. People have realized the dire consequences of noncompliance with the directives of the captain of the nation’s ship, considering the sensitive circumstances in the region and the attempt by reckless individuals to take advantage of the situation in a number of Arab countries to serve personal interests. These individuals have forgotten that Kuwait is not a police and dictatorship state. Kuwait is blessed with a democracy which does not exist even in the most democratic country in the Arab world.
Yes, Your Highness, everything in your sublime speech indicates that you are the ruler; and the people must listen and obey. Your speech reflects your feelings - you feel the people’s pain. They are now tired of all kinds of aggravation and they want nothing but peace, stability and building of solid institutions which contribute to the development of all segments in the country. They want to stay away from those who serve personal interests which had caused enormous losses to the country over the years.
These people do not see further than their noses. They hurl baseless accusations, going as far as violating the dignity of others. They have declared themselves guardians of truth and judges of the nation, yet they have been sinking in swamps of all sorts of corruption as they shamelessly embezzle public money.
The Amir’s speech also stressed the importance of transparency in every transaction. He called on all institutions with different competencies to usher in a new era of work in which each official and citizen must play their role efficiently. The Amir has laid down the basics for maintaining security and stability of the country. He emphasized the need to protect the integrity of Kuwait, prevent anyone from terrorizing its people and thwart any attempt to stop the nation from moving forward. These basics include the elimination of street chaos and rioting mobs who seek to sow discord between the sons of the community in various ways, forgetting the fact that Kuwait is a state of institutions and the law; it is not for a few deviant looters.
All Kuwaitis must say with conviction: “Obedience to His Highness the Amir”. Anyone who goes astray is not from us; he does not represent Kuwait and its people. This person is an outcast in our society which was established based on the principles of tolerance and brotherhood. Kuwaitis fully support whatever the Guardian does in the best interest of his people and his country.
Your Highness, we listen and abide by your instructions.
