Hijab-wearing students sent away from an Indian school Registration denied

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 7: A group of parents revealed that the management of an Indian school refused to register students who wore headscarves or ‘hijab’, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting informed sources.

One of the parents lamented that the school administration demanded their daughter remove her headscarf in order be admitted in the school.

The parents said they tried to convince the administration but the latter refused to budge, adding that they wondered if the school had the right to oblige students to remove their headscarves.

They implored the Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education of Ministry of Education Mona Al-Looghani to investigate the matter.
