22 kilos hashish found with Iraqi citizen at border exit

KUWAIT CITY, July 12: Customs officers at the Abdali border post recently foiled an attempt by an unidentified Iraqi man to smuggle out of the country 22 kilos of hashish, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources the drugs were hidden in a secret compartment of his car.
The sources disclosed the Iraqi arrived at the border exit and as is customary the officer searched the car and found nothing. However, when the officers felt the man looked nervous, they re-inspected his car and found the drugs neatly hidden under the car.
The drugs and the suspect have been referred to the concerned authorities.

Currency seized: The Customs officers at the Doha Port recently foiled attempts by an Iranian sailor to smuggle into the country Iranian riyals worth KD 200,000, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to Customs sources the money was hidden in black bags.
The money and the Iranian have been handed over to the General Department of Criminal Investigation.

Shepherd kills self: An unidentified Asian shepherd is said to have committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to security sources the death was discovered by the sponsor of the victim when he went to his animal pen.
The sponsor said he called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior when he saw the victim’s body dangling with one end of the rope around his neck.
The sponsor said of late the victim appeared abnormal especially after he received a call from his family back home.
The remains of the victim have been referred to Forensics. Police are investigating the death. In the meantime a case of suicide has been registered at the area police station.
