Undersecretary wants list of churches in Kuwait No reasons given for demand

KUWAIT CITY, May 21: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr Adel Al-Kandari has asked the Director-General of Kuwait Municipality to give him a list of all churches in Kuwait without giving any reason, reports Al-Watan daily quoting reliable sources.

He also wants all details about these churches, their location, the geographical distribution and area of each church. He also wants to know if any land has been allotted to build a church but has not yet been used.

Meanwhile, the Assistant Undersecretary for Road Sector at the Ministry of Public Works Saud Al-Naqi has called upon the Kuwait Municipality to identify the car parking area needed to be developed for the Egyptian Coptic Church in Hawalli.

Churches in Residential AreasCallTo Action inQ8 | 5/23/2012 10:32:03 AM I would love to know how a church is allowed to operate out of a villa in Salwa. On Fridays, when people attend this church, it is impossible to navigate the street due to buses bringing in churchgoers and other churchgoers randomly parking their cars wherever they see fit. Additionally, weather permitting, this church has activities on its exterior patio, or housh, playing loud music and making loud announcements using microphones, often while the Friday call to prayer is taking place. I'm just wondering why the church is even allowed to exist in this residence in the first place? Aren't there zoned areas for the churches?
