Men, women, cross-dressers, homosexuals held in vice dens raid

KUWAIT CITY, April 19: During a security campaign in Hawalli and Salmiya, police armed with a search and arrest warrant raided many suspect apartments and arrested 20 men, 15 young women, five cross-dressers and four homosexuals and referred them to the authorities for committing immoral acts.
The same police also raided a gambling ‘den’ in the area and arrested some young men and women, some of whom were under the influence of alcohol.
According to security sources the campaigns will continue against those who commit illegal acts.
The sources said teenagers caught during the raids will be returned to their parents while the others will be referred to the concerned authorities.
The sources said the raids will cover coffee shops, billiards halls and all suspect apartments.
Meanwhile, an Egyptian was arrested at Kuwait International Airport for the possession of three rolls of hashish and 18 narcotic pills.
The Customs officers got suspicious when they noticed the Egyptian was nervous as he approached the luggage and body inspection counter. When the officers searched him, they found the contraband in his shoes.
The suspect was referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.
In another story, during a crackdown on youths hunting for birds along the coastal road from King Fahd Motorway and from Nuwaiseeb to Mina Abdullah, police have arrested 14 youths and seized from them six guns and four air rifles, 2,000 rounds of ammunition and one cage.
All those arrested have been referred to the concerned authorities.
