Accidents, maintenance on most roads drive motorists crazy Students miss lectures, many late for work
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 21: Angry motorists were seen honking their car horns and cursing under their breath because they were trapped in the middle of the road leading to the Capital governorate due to traffic jams caused by accidents and repair of roads.
The same scenario was witnessed along the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Ring Roads. This resulted in several university students missing their lectures and many office goers also were late for work.
Moreover, a heavy duty crane had overturned in the middle of the road under the Keifan Bridge which totally closed the road for vehicular traffic for a long time. It affected the surrounding areas.
Firemen and police patrols rushed to the scene and were seen trying their best to solve the problem of the motorists. Also the faulty traffic light under the Al-Ghazali Bridge worsened the traffic situation in the area.
Meanwhile, six persons were injured in traffic accidents in Jahra, Farwaniya and Subbiya.
Three people were injured when their vehicle overturned on the Jahra Road in the vicinity of the Amghara Bride due to an unidentified reason.
They have been admitted to the Jahra Hospital.
Two other men were injured following a two-vehicle collision on the Sixth Ring Road. They have been admitted to the Farwaniya Hospital.
In yet another accident, a youth was injured when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a barrel on the side of the road.
