KUWAIT CITY, Feb 11: Article 46 of the Traffic Law has been amended to allow car owners to have tinted windows, except those in the front and the driver’s side, but the darkness level should not exceed 30 percent, Assistant Secretary for Traffic Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Major General Dr Mustafa Al-Zuabi disclosed in a press statement Saturday.

Al-Zuabi explained the amendment is pursuant to a directive issued by acting Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior and Defense Sheikh Ahmad Al-Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as per the decision adopted by the GCC officials and ministers.

According to Al-Zuabi, anyone who violates the conditions and technical specifications stipulated in the Traffic Law will be fined not more than KD 15 and his vehicle will be impounded.  He called on all car owners and drivers to fully abide by the regulations on tinted windows to guarantee their safety and that of other road users.
