Parliament may prioritize multimillion deposit case PM meets team from Salafist movement, ICM

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 11: The Parliament intends to prioritize the multimillion deposit case, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily, quoting MP Al-Saifi Mubarak Al-Saifi Al-Ajmi.
He also said that the former Parliament was dissolved because of the spread of corruption and the inability of the government to resolve this issue.
He stressed that the new Parliament will undertake all the pending issues and will penalize those involved in the murder of the Kuwaiti citizen, Mohammed Al-Maymouni.
 In addition, Al-Saifi emphasized that the new ministers should be qualified public officials who can take decisions and implement them effectively. He pointed out that the composition of the new government must match that of the Parliament, so that the two authorities can work together in the interest of the nation.
Meanwhile, HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah met a delegation from the Islamist Salafist Movement and the Islamic Constitutional Movement (Hadas), to discuss governmental issues, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Issues
Issues discussed in the meeting included the refusal of the Islamic Constitutional Movement to join the new government, in addition to the introduction of former MP and minister as well as the member of the Islamist Salafist Movement Ahmad Baqer into the new government.
The prime minister also accepted the refusal of another delegation from the National Action Bloc to join the new government. However they agreed to cooperate with the prime minister for any decisions related to the development of the country.
Meanwhile, MP Abdul Rahman Al-Anjari encouraged the Islamists in the Parliament to take part in the new government to ensure democracy in the legislature.
In another development, the political activist Khaled Al-Shileimi held a seminar on Saturday focusing on the modifications to be made on Article Two of the Constitution, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Al-Shileimi claimed that the seminar served as a popular campaign for encouraging the alteration of Article Two.
He assured that he would hold seminars in all constituencies to form the public opinion and to get the support of the MPs.
