KUWAIT CITY, Feb 7: Police have arrested a young couple for drinking alcohol.
Initial reports show the youth behind the wheel was ordered to pull over while driving along a road off Mina Abdullah and while issuing a citation police got the smell of alcohol coming from the mouth of the youth and his girlfriend. They have been referred to the concerned authorities.

Home broken into: Police are looking for an unidentified person who allegedly broke into the home of a Kuwaiti man in Reggae and stole KD 3,000. The theft occurred when the man was visiting friends with his family.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the thief. A case has been registered at the area police station.

Traffic police insulted: A case has been filed at the Shuwaikh Industrial Police Station against an unidentified Kuwaiti youth for allegedly insulting policemen on duty. According to security sources the incident happened when a police officer issued a citation to the citizen for violating traffic laws.
At this point the youth got angry and picked up a quarrel with the securitymen and verbally insulted them.

Fire in wedding hall: Acting on information firemen from the Jahra Fire Center rushed to a marriage hall in the area and put out fire to chairs which were neatly arranged outside the hall.
No casualties have been reported. At the time of the fire no one was in the reception hall. The cause of the fire is not known.

19 illegals held: Police arrested 19 Asian men for violating residence law and referred them to authorities for deportation, reports Al-Rai daily.
Sources say police arrested one of the violators and he guided police to a factory in Kabad area where his other compatriots were working. One of them is said to be living without legal residence permit since the last 10 years.
Legal action will be taken against the owner of the factory, added sources.
