Sponsor says his maid kidnapped, sexually assaulted

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 7: A Kuwaiti man has filed a complaint with the Sulaibiya Police Station accusing unidentified persons of kidnapping and raping his maid, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
In his complaint the man said the maid was on her way to a cooperative society when the suspects bundled her in their car and drove her to a deserted area and raped her.
Police are looking for the suspects.


Drunk youth beats kin: Police are looking for an unidentified Arab youth for drinking alcohol and beating members of the family, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
According to reports, a complaint against the youth has been filed by the parents.

Reports denied: There is no truth in reports that six board members of a prominent local bank were arrested for money laundering and that 19 other senior officials, including branch managers and auditors, were referred to the prosecution, sources in the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) told Al-Mustaqbal daily.
Strongly refuting the rumors which are doing rounds on social networking sites, sources said such false reports affect the banking sector and the performance of the stock exchange. Sources in the said local bank too denied the rumors.

15 beggars caught: As many as 15 people, including a Bedoun and a female GCC national, were arrested for begging in Ahmadi governorate, reports Al-Anba daily.
The suspects were caught red-handed in Fahaheel and Mangaf markets.

Woman in suicide bid: A Syrian woman, distressed by the killings and torture of her fellow citizens in her home country, attempted to commit suicide by swallowing a large quantity of medicines, reports Al-Rai daily.
The woman is currently in the Intensive Care Unit of Mubarak Hospital, but she managed to tell policemen that she strongly felt for the innocent people who are being ruthlessly killed by the Syrian regime.

Thieves hit pharmacy: Police are looking for a thief who stole KD 1,000 and medicines worth another KD 1,000 from a pharmacy in Salmiya, reports Alam-Alyawm daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints from the scene and investigations are going on.
