Kuwait’s Jassem retires from soccer

Under the auspices of the Deputy Chairperson of Al-Qadsiya Club, Sheikh Khalid Al-Fahad, Kuwait National Football Team and Al-Qadsiya Football Club player Meshari Jassem bid active soccer farewell in a local league game between Al-Qadsiya and Al-Kuwait Sports Club at the main stadium of Al-Qadsiya Club on Tuesday, reports Al-Seyassah daily. In a statement after the match, Sheikh Khalid eulogized the retiring star player for total dedication and commitment during his playing days.

In a short speech, Jassem was grateful to his numerous fans that honored him with their presence. He thanked Sheikh Khalid for his patronage, saying ‘You have always been supportive to Kuwaiti sportsmen in general, as you are highly committed to develop Kuwaiti sports’. He also thanked the Chairperson of Al-Qadsiya Sports Club Bassam Al-Bassam and other members of the administration. Meshari Al-Jassem is retiring after 18 years of service to Al-Qadsiya Club. He rose from the feeder team to the senior level during which the club won medals and trophies. He also represented Kuwait in the national youth and senior teams in many tournaments.
