KD 3,000 ‘ousts’ Syrian
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 6: Security-men from the Immigration General Department arrested an employee at the Kuwait International Airport for helping a wanted Syrian expatriate escape out of the country, reports Al-Jarida daily.
A security source said a Kuwaiti man filed a complaint, saying the Syrian, who had to pay him a huge sum of money and who was wanted by law and Interpol for several other acts of swindling, managed to leave the country although a search and arrest warrant was issued against him.
Securitymen conducted intense investigations and identified the official who had stamped the passport of the Syrian despite a travel ban against him. During interrogation, the employee admitted to receiving KD 3,000 from the Syrian.
Stabbing over game: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti youth for stabbing and injuring his friend in Sulaibiya area, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to a security source, the victim blamed the suspect for the defeat of their team in a football match. This infuriated the youth and he went to his car, brought a knife and stabbed his friend before driving off.
The injured friend was rushed to hospital, while police managed to arrest the culprit within a short time.
A case of attempted murder was registered.
Wanted man held: Hawalli securitymen have arrested a Kuwaiti man, believed to be in his 20s, for his involvement in 17 criminal cases, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Police arrested another wanted Kuwaiti in Hawalli area and referred both men to the investigation department.
Policemen probed: Three police officers have been referred to the Legal Affairs Department of the Interior Ministry for questioning, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The three officers allegedly refused to obey instructions and did not confront youngsters who stormed Al-Watan TV station. They reportedly stayed inside their vehicle.
