Fight corruption, next govt urged - ‘Work for nation’s development’
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 3: Mohammed Hayef Al-Mutairi who won the seat in the National Assembly from the Fourth Constituency has called on the next government to get prepared to fight corruption and end political crisis which ended with the removal of the former prime minister from office, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Another new MP from the Fourth Constituency, Mohammed Al-Hatlani said the large number of people heading to the polls has proved beyond doubt that the next parliament will be strong and work for the development of the nation with government help.
Meanwhile, one of the contestants in the just concluded National Assembly elections Eid Shaman Al-Mutairi was quoted as saying people braved the cold weather to cast their ballot because they are aware of the importance of their contribution that can bring change in the country.
He also said the next government should work to save the country from the mess that has destroyed national unity.
Coordination
Meanwhile, most of the judges who headed the election commission have praised the coordination between the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Justice which made this year’s elections a trouble-free process that might have infringed on the democratic nature of Kuwait, reports Al-Wasat daily.
They also extolled the cooperation between the voters and candidates representatives in following the instruction inside the polling stations. In the Fourth Constituency polling station; the head of the electoral commission, Firdous area, Counselor AbdulRahman Al-Nimsh commended the level of awareness of election procedures and discipline of the voters and the representatives of the candidates, including their pleasant cooperation with the officials from the Ministry of Interior.
All Heads of Electoral Commission praised the Ministry of Interior for their election preparedness which contributed to easy and orderly movement of the voters.
