Cafes are also busy during elections day, as a resort for voters who are waiting for results long hours after casting their votes.
The 2012 elections’ day is witnessing remarkable initiatives and efforts carried out by Kuwaitis, everyone through his-her line of work. Of these initiatives is by civil defense volunteer Najat Falah, who told KUNA that she always volunteers in such events out of her love to her country (Kuwait) and out of desire to serve her fellow citizens.
She affirmed that “everything is going smoothly through cooperation between interior ministry personnel and voters.”
On his part, senior paramedics’ officer at the health ministry Ibrahim Hassan told KUNA that fully-equipped emergency clinics are set to receive emergency cases in each constituency.  He added that ambulances are also at hand should any case needs to be transferred to the nearest hospital. Meanwhile, street cleaners hired by Kuwait Municipality are all over the polling stations, sweeping inside and outside the schools.
Yet, it was observed that other ‘unlicensed’ labor are taking advantage of the event in a rather ‘scheming’ manner through offering cleaning services for one day (elections day), in exchange of relatively high wages.
