Army man’s detention ordered over bid to attack traffic police
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: Director of Jahra Security Directorate Major-General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah has ordered the detention of a military man working for the Ministry of Defence for attempting to attack traffic police after he was caught red-handed for reckless driving, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources the man was under the influence of alcohol.
It has been reported when traffic police ordered the man to pull over he refused orders and stepped on the gas pedal.
He was chased and arrested at an unidentified location. He has been handed over to the military police.
Drunk officer held: The Hawalli police have arrested an army police officer in the rank of Captain for consuming alcohol, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The drunkard was arrested by a police patrol at a checkpoint in Salmiya.
The officer has been referred to the authorities.
