Muffler proves hangman’s noose for mechanic
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 30: In a tragic incident, a Syrian mechanic got strangled while repairing a car in a garage in Al-Rai area, reports Al-Rai daily.
Sources say the victim was wearing a scarf around his neck to protect himself from cold and the fan of the car he was repairing pulled one end of the scarf with such force that he died immediately.
His remains were referred to Forensics.
Asian robbed: Police are looking for an unidentified person for kidnapping and robbing an Asian expatriate, reports Al-Rai daily.
The Asian filed a complaint at Shuwaikh Police Station, saying when he was walking on a street in the area, a youth driving a 4-wheel drive vehicle stopped by and claiming to be a policeman, asked him to get into the vehicle. He then drove to a place in Andalus where he demanded the Asian to hand over his money and cell phone and escaped, leaving the latter there.
The Asian noted down the plate number of the vehicle and gave it to police.
Maid attempts suicide: An Ethiopian housemaid was rushed to hospital after she tried in vain to kill herself by consuming a large number of tablets and other medicines in her sponsor’s house in Sabah Al-Nasser area, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The sponsor’s family members heard the maid crying hysterically and rushed to her room where they found her lying on the floor, writhing in pain.
A case of attempted suicide has been registered against the woman and police are conducting investigations to find out why she wanted to kill herself.
Maid steals cash: Police are looking for an Asian housemaid against whom her Kuwaiti sponsor filed a betrayal of trust case, reports Alam-Alyawm daily.
The sponsor lodged a complaint at Adan Police Station, saying the maid was instructed to hand over a sum of KD 370 to his wife, but she pocketed the money and escaped.
