Kuwaiti youth, three Iranian women caught drunk on road
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 29: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti youth and three Iranian women for consuming alcohol and recovered two bottles of whisky from their possession, reports Al-Rai daily.
The youth and the women were traveling in a jeep on King Fahad Expressway when they were stopped by a police patrol on routine duty. Officers noticed that the occupants were under the influence of alcohol and arrested them. Sources say the youth resisted and tried to attack the officers, but he was overpowered.
The Iranians, who work in a beauty salon, were reportedly arrested last week for the same offence but were released on bail.
Poll tent on fire: Firemen put out fire that broke out in a tent being used as election headquarters of Fifth Constituency candidate Khalid Al-Shimmari in Abu Halifa area, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Fire also broke out in the tent of another candidate Jawad Al-Mutwa’a in Mansouriah. An electric short circuit is said to have caused the fire.
Bedoun injured: A Bedoun youth sustained serious injuries when he lost control on his car and it overturned between Al-Naeem and Taima areas, reports Alam-Alyawm daily. He is currently recuperating in Jahra Hospital.
