Driver prime suspect as old couple bludgeoned to death

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 28: A Kuwaiti woman, in her 60s, and her husband — a GCC national — were found dead inside their house in Andalus Saturday.
According to a security source, the woman’s sister called her several times but there was no response, so she decided to visit her to find out why her calls went unanswered. However, she was shocked to find the woman lying dead in a pool of blood near the kitchen, so she immediately called the police.
Upon arrival at the scene, the police officers searched the house until they found the husband’s body with deep fractures on the head. The couple’s bodies were referred to Forensics for autopsy.
Preliminary investigations revealed the murderer ransacked the house, carting away valuable items like jewelry and cash. The officers discovered the driver of the couple traveled two days ago, raising suspicions that he is behind the killing. The officers suspected the driver waited for the couple to be alone in the house before committing the crime.
Farwaniya Security Chief Major General Abdul Fatah Al-Ali, Criminal Investigation Department Head Mansour Al-Hajeri and many other senior Interior Ministry officers visited the crime scene.
Meanwhile the Security Information Department at the ministry issued a statement, affirming the start of an intensive investigation to identify the murderer. The department is also coordinating with other security institutions to ensure that justice is served.
