KUWAIT CITY, Jan 27: A Kuwaiti man was recently arrested at Cairo airport for trying to smuggle out three lion cubs, reports Al-Anba daily. The man reportedly kept claiming that they were cats and not lion cubs.
Sources say airport authorities noticed the animals in the man’s possession and asked why he was taking them. The man reportedly presented a letter stating he had permission to travel with three cats. The authorities then called wild life officials who confirmed that they were lion cubs and took possession of the animals.
The Kuwaiti was later released and allowed to travel to Kuwait without the animals.
