Kuwaiti gets life in jail for stabbing, killing 2 friends
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25: The Court of First Instance, presided over by Judge Hani Hamdan, sentenced a Kuwaiti to life in prison and fined him KD 5,001 for killing his two friends in one of the victims’ diwaniya.
According to an investigation officer from the Jahra Security Directorate, the accused killed his friends by stabbing them with a knife when they made fun of him for converting from Sunni to Shiite. He was later arrested at the Psychiatric Hospital.
During investigations, the Kuwaiti admitted the crime and told the officers that he hid the knife and the victims’ clothes immediately after stabbing them to death.
A psychiatric report was also submitted to the investigators, stating the accused is suffering from multiple personality disorder and he has been undergoing treatment for the last six months.
Indians fighting: Five Indians working for a cleaning company were allegedly involved in a fight on the Al-Maghreb Motorway, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to reports after work the Indians stopped a taxi to go to Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. The taxi driver demanded KD 2 fare and there was disagreement among the Indians.
One of them told the driver they were ready to pay only KD 1 and the latter refused. The taxi driver left them alone and drove off. This angered the four others and they mercilessly beat the one who had bargained the fare.
Acting on information police rushed to the spot and took the injured to a hospital and the others to a police station.
Drugs and ammo: Police have arrested two youths in Amghara scrapyard for possessing drugs, narcotic pills, knives and unlicensed weapons, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to security sources the suspects were riding in a Jeep with tinted glasses and when police ordered the man behind the wheel to pull over both men looked confused.
Police have reportedly seized from them 30 narcotic pills, two pieces of hashish, 4 hunting guns, 8 knives and two swords.
The two youths have been referred to the authorities.
