Duo held with drug pills, heroin 60,000 drug pills with Iraqi smuggler
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 17: Two youths were apprehended by security operatives on patrol in Fahad Al-Ahmad area, with an unspecified quantity of narcotic pills and heroin in their possession.
The suspects were referred to the relevant authority for necessary action.
60,000 drug pills with Iraqi smuggler: Customs at the Abdalli border outlet foiled an attempt by one Iraqi trucker to smuggle 60,000 narcotic pills he kept inside a spare wheel.
According to sources, officers discerned a strange item had been concealed in the wheel when the suspect arrived at the checkpoint, and they discovered drugs after the wheel was opened. The suspect was referred to the relevant authority without delay.
Gang held: A gang of three Asians which specialized in stealing from citizens and expatriates in different places of the country have been arrested by Capital governorate security operatives.
Sources say the suspects confess to engaging in 12 thefts and have since been referred to the concerned authority for further investigation.
Brother missing: A Kuwaiti citizen reported to officers in Mubarak Al-Kabeer area police station that his 30-year-old brother left home three days ago, and has since not returned. He also said his brother’s mobile phone has been switched off. The citizen provided details of his brother to policemen for investigation. A case was registered.
Brother beats girl: A girl lodged a complaint with policemen in Hawalli and reported she was physically assaulted by her brother. A case was registered for investigation.
Grocery on fire: Firemen rushed to Sabah Al-Nasser area to extinguish fire that engulfed a grocery store, without registering any casualties. However, material loss was inevitable. A case was registered to determine the cause of fire.
Employee drunk: Police have arrested an unidentified employee at the Kuwait International Airport for consuming alcohol, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The man’s colleagues noticed his strange behavior and reported the matter to higher-ups, said sources, adding the employee was referred to Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station.
Brother attacked: A 33-year-old man has lodged a complaint at Sulaibikhat Police Station, accusing his brother of attacking him with a cleaver and causing him injury on the head and in the eye, in addition to several other minor injuries, reports Al-Rai daily.
It is reported that the attacker was under the influence of drugs. Police will summon him for questioning.
