30 days paid leave regardless of what your contract says
I am working in a private company from November 2008 and as per the company contract I am eligible for 14 days leave salary.
It’s clearly mentioned in the new Labor Law that I will be eligible for 30 days leave salary. So I would like to know whether I am eligible to get it if I take a vacation by May, 2012. Otherwise, tell me when will I be entitled to the 30-day leave.

Answer: You are entitled to 30 days paid leave regardless of what your contract says. Any clause on leave, in contracts, which is less than 30 days mentioned in the Kuwait Labor Law stands cancelled. The Labor Law states the minimum that a company can give and anything less than that is not worth the paper it is written on.
