Blood brothers seriously hurt as knives used in fierce fight Kuwaiti youths specialized in robbing campsites held
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 14: Two brothers sustained injuries as they engaged in a fierce fight and used knives to attack one another at their family residence in Adan area, reports Al-Rai daily.
Father of the fighters is said to have placed a distress call to security operatives when he couldn’t control his sons. Sources said officers rushed to the scene and managed to separate the brothers, after which paramedics referred them to the Adan Hospital for medical care under tight security. A case was registered.
Two thieves held: Detectives from the Ahmadi Governorate apprehended two Kuwaiti youths who specialized in raiding campsites in the locality, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Sources disclosed the Ahmadi security chief ordered detectives to bring the suspects to book, following several complaints officers received about thefts at the camps. The two youths were referred to the relevant authority for necessary action.
‘Stuntmen’ booked: Jahra securitymen arrested four youths for performing stunts with their vehicles in Oyoun, Naseem and Taima areas. The youths were referred to authorities for further action.
Worker hurt: An Egyptian construction worker sustained injuries and fractures when he fell from the top of an under construction building in Hawalli.
Paramedics rushed him to the Intensive Care Unit of Mubarak Hospital.
112 staff abused: Two officers at the Operations Room 112 lodged a complaint, saying two people called them and hurled abuses at them, reports Al-Rai daily. The officers said the callers even laughed after abusing them. Investigations are going on to locate the callers.
Ammo cache found: A construction worker at Kuwait University’s Shedadiyah campus discovered a cache of ammunition during excavation work, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The worker placed a call to the Operations Room, following which bomb disposal units cordoned off the area and detonated the explosives which are believed to have been left since the liberation war.
Coffee shop hit: Police are looking for thieves who broke into a shop dealing in coffee products and stole coffee and prepaid mobile phone cards, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The owner filed a complaint at Nugra Police Station, saying he found the glass of the shop, which is located in a commercial complex, broken when he came in the morning.
Fingerprints have been lifted from the scene and investigations are going on.
Hoax caller sought: Criminal Investigation Department officers are looking for a hoax caller who had called police and said a corpse was lying by the roadside in Dhahr area, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Rescue officers had rushed to the scene with an ambulance, only to discover that it was a hoax call. When they tried to call the informant back, his phone was switched off. A case was registered.
Traffic police abused: Three Kuwaitis have been arrested and referred to the concerned authorities for verbally abusing two traffic policemen on duty, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to security sources this happened when one of the policemen was issuing a citation to a citizen for violating traffic laws.
A case has been registered at a police station.
