Visa transfer from Domestic to Work visa

I’m in Kuwait on an Article 20 (domestic) visa and would like to transfer to an Article 18 (work permit) residence.
My current sponsor does not have a company but his friend has one. Can I transfer to the sponsorship of his friend and then transfer to Article 18 if all parties consent?
How long must I be under the sponsorship in both cases (my first and then my second sponsor) before I’m eligible for transfer?

Answer: Yes, you can transfer to the domestic visa from his friend and then to a work permit. There is no time limit before you can transfer.

labour lawSrivi | 1/14/2012 7:06:33 PM labour law, you cannot bend as per your convenience. By that way, every kuwaiti is a friend to another kuwaiti. So, anybody can transfer to anybody company. Is it rule ? Labour law gave you exemption, to same family business, not for everybody business. Take care.

impossibleSrivi | 1/14/2012 7:02:49 PM you can do only transfer from visa.20 khadim to visa.18, shoun visa, only if sponsor or his family relative is having company. Not for a third party friend. it is not allowed. It should be family business like brother or sisters company. There is no time limit for current company. but, new company you should work minimum 1 year for local transfer.
