‘She is my wife’
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 9: Police are looking for an unidentified youth for allegedly beating a young woman at an unidentified location on the Arabian Gulf Road, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports when the pedestrians and passersby intervened to prevent the man from beating the woman, he reportedly told the onlookers not to interfere in his business and claimed the woman was his wife.
When someone called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior, a police patrol was dispatched to the area but the suspect was not there.
However, when the woman filed a complaint with the Salmiya Police Station, she claimed the youth is ‘just a friend’. She also said he is jealous because she talks to other young men.
Gun found with man: Police have referred an unidentified Kuwaiti man to the Criminal Investigation Department for possessing an unlicensed gun, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources the man was arrested on suspicion. He was driving an American car and police asked him to show his ID, he looked confused.
Police then checked his car and found the gun in the car booth.
Meanwhile, workers doing a maintenance job in a building in Wafra found a Kalashnikov rifle hidden in the false ceiling of the building, reports Al-Shahed daily. The ambulance sector of the joint operations department was using the building.
As soon as the Operations Room was notified about the weapon, securitymen and anti-explosive teams rushed to the scene and took possession of the rifle. Anti-explosive teams said the weapon might have been hidden during the Iraqi invasion. A case was registered.
Woman insulted: A woman working at Salmiya Citizens Service Center filed a complaint, accusing a Kuwaiti man of insulting her in front of her colleagues, reports Al-Rai daily.
The complainant said the man wanted to get a transaction processed and that when she asked him to go to the service center affiliated to his area of residence, he got angry and insulted her. Police will summon the man for questioning.
