Bargain for honor; Girl molested

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 8:  A father, who complained that his 10-year-old daughter’s Arabic tutor had misbehaved with her, reportedly tried to bargain with the tutor and offered to withdraw the complaint if the latter paid him KD 1,000, reports Al-Rai daily.
The man had earlier lodged a complaint at Rumaithiya Police Station, accusing the tutor of behaving inappropriately with the girl. The tutor was shocked and said the girl’s father allowed him to discipline her and that he just held the girl’s arms.
The tutor was however arrested and referred to prosecution. Sources said the father contacted the tutor and offered to withdraw the complaint if he shelled out KD 1,000.

Girl molested:
Police are looking for an unidentified person who attempted to molest a 19-year-old girl in a camping area, reports Al-Anba daily.
The incident took place when the girl was riding a buggy and it malfunctioned in an open area near her family’s tent. In a complaint filed at Abdullah Port police station, she said a youth, who approached her under the pretext of helping, tried to molest her and that he fled when she started shouting for help.

Friend accused: A 20-year-old Kuwaiti youth filed a complaint at Waha Police Station, accusing his friend of burning his sports car and stealing the tyres of the vehicle, reports Al-Anba daily.
The youth had filed a report two weeks ago, saying his car got stolen, but he reportedly found the vehicle in a badly burnt state in an open area recently.
Criminal Evidences Department officials will be summoned to lift fingerprints from the vehicle, said sources, adding police will summon the suspect for interrogation.
In a similar incident, police are looking for a Kuwaiti man for torching the car of his compatriot friend in Jahra area, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The owner of the car described his friend as ‘lunatic’ and said the latter doused inflammable substance on the car, set it on fire and kept laughing all the while. When the suspect was asked why he did so, he allegedly said ‘because I am lunatic.’
A case was registered at Waha Police Station.
